Very little is known about the beings referred to as The Builders, other than the fact that while primitive man was taking his first steps on Earth, they were waging an ongoing interstellar war with The Red Race, against whom they unleashed their ultimate weapon: Machines whose only job was to eliminate life in whatever form, wherever it was encountered. In the end, these machines did their job so well, they returned to the home system of The Builders, and exterminated them too.
